Luke's Levity

You lookin' at me?

On the trip home from Lucas' birthday party last night, Brady (7), Lucas (5) and his friend Andrew (5) were having a discussion about whether or not the moon follows you.  After some discussion and theories being thrown around by the three of them about how the moon "works", I informed them that the moon rotates around the Earth and that it only appears to be following you.  Feeling that he'd won the discussion, Brady said something along the lines of "I told you" to Lucas, to which Lucas replied rather snarkily, "Brady, I'm not a scIenTIst!"

Lucas was about to head to the backyard to start cleaning up.  He walked about 15 feet away from me towards the back, then stopped and appeared to be listening to/for something.  Then he walked back towards me, stopped to listen again, then said:

"Dad, someone say 'Who'.  Who dat is?"

So I listened for a few seconds before I heard a dove cooing loudly from the back yard.

Luke learned a new song at daycare today that he has been singing.  It goes like this:

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells, HEY!"
